The Happy Holidays Book Tag! (original)

Hey what’s up! I’ve missed blogging so much; my last post was in October which is ridiculous, but anyways it’s December now and GUYS I’ve already in the Christmas spirit since last February so I thought I’d create a fun tag to share! If you were not tagged at the bottom please feel free to do this and have fun with it! I can’t wait to see your answers!

rules:

  1. Thank the person who tagged you and tag the original creator (Sarah @btweenthepages.com)
  2. Answer the questions and have fun 🙂
  3. Feel free to use the graphics!

a book that…

ACOMAF

This book kept my eyes glued to it for days, and basically there was just never a lull in it. It is so action packed and there’s so much drama going on with the characters *24/7*. Even if I was reading about Feyre, Rhysand, Cass, Az, Amren, and Mor locked in an empty room for a month I would still be obsessed. ACTUALLY THAT WOULD MAKE A PRETTY INTERESTING STORY…Except someone would end up dead (so probably definitely Cassian or Mor and it would end in one of them killing the other).

perks

Okay maybe not so warm and happy at least half of the book but it still mostly  counts. Both the book and movie are so well done, and as much as I recommend both READ IT FIRST. I can state that this is the right thing to do from firsthand experience of breaking that rule. The first time I saw the cover of this book was when I was about ten years old and I instantly thought, “wow that book looks awful”. Funnily enough, it ended up being one of the most wise and true to heart stories I’d ever heard.

I was SO impressed with this book. It took so much convincing from a friend, because I was incredibly skeptical of the OTHER cover (Cassandra Clare fans you know what I mean) which I never loved nor will I grow to. Technically I finished this in two sittings but I mean…come on, I had it me, because we both know this book is *that* good.

This book is sitting on my book shelf, and I’ve never opened it since I got it months and months ago but it seems really quite interesting. Even though it looks like it represents and tragic story I love the cover, mostly because of how simplistic it is I think.

ACOTAR

Deep down, I always KNEW this was amazing, purely from the insane amount of positive book reviews I’ve read about it. I read the back of it when I first bought it and was totally wondering whether I should’ve bought this book, but little did I know I was just getting into my next obsession that basically took over my mind for the next, like year. (So yes I’m still fangirling over Rhysand in this exact moment.)

woodfire-5

ACOMAF

Wow I just noticed that I put this book at the top too. Honestly I just decided to leave it because it shows how I admire every aspect of this book. (also the characters in this book are my fictional best friends so what can I say this really is the ONLY choice) To assure you even further of my dedication to this series by the way, (this is getting so out of hand and extra I have a feeling you guys already understand) I just wanted to let you know that next to my desk where I’m writing this, is a picture I printed from the internet of fan art featuring Feyre, Rhys, Cass, Mor, Az, and Amren soooo…

wwl.jpg

This is my favorite book, which half of you reading this probably already know because I pretty much mention it in every book tag. The reason why I love it so much is because of how different it is from most other young adult literature. The characters are so real, the plot is anything but basic or expected, and the writing style is unique.

I tag:

And then…(I don’t like to be this person but I’m so tired and just want sleep)

I tag everyone reading this right now!

(dang this girl is so lazy)
But actually I mean it! I really hope this tag catches on so it would mean so much to me if you did do it, but more IMPORTANTLY I would LOVE to read your answers if you did so drop the link down below!! :))
Thanks for reading and happy holidays!!

fall-book-tag.png

Okay. It has been about FOREVER since I’ve posted something, but I swear I’m not leaving for good!! I just haven’t gotten around to blogging lately with, well…just everything in life. ANYWAYS it’s been quite a while since I’ve gone tag hunting and after some thorough searching on my reader I found this and literally screamed PERFECT. Obviously I wasn’t actually tagged, so thank you Bionic Bookworm for creating this! (Loving the graphics!)

The Rules:

  • Please link back to me, Bionic Book Worm, as the creator of this tag!! I want to see your answers!!
  • Use the graphics – if you want 🙂

We Are Okay: Nina LaCour

Funny story I actually ordered this thinking it was a graphic novel, and was disappointed at first but don’t worry that didn’t last for long!! I read this book a while back actually but I can’t help but pick this because of (not to be repetitive) how fresh and different the writing felt. I loved the way the story was told, and the mystery was carefully revealed. It was so unlike any other book and definitely stood out.

I am number 4

I Am Number Four: Pittacus Lore

So basically I was going to do ACOTAR for this one but this book is literally an ombre of red and oranges! Perfect. I thought the book itself was fairly mediocre, and definitely not to the level where I wanted to read all the other books. Not bad though, and probably worth reading. It just wasn’t anything too special.

 The Unexpected Everything: Morgan Matson

What a stereo typical cute little contemporary. I adore all Morgan Matson books because they’re just the right amount of cute to be borderline cheesy. Plus this cover, let’s be real, is one of the best contemporary covers ever. They’re always just so freaking CHEESY.

 Lady Midnight: Cassandra Clare

It’s both this book and Lord of Shadows with dramatic endings, but really I only own LOS on my kindle which I didn’t feel like charging sooo…I didn’t really feel like Livvy’s death was super huge, but I was really looking forward to Livvy, Kit, and Ty being the next Jace, Izzy, and Simon. Anyone feel me? I was pretty surprised that Clare killed her off though, because let’s be real, she resurrects all of her characters…wait a second…

A Court of Mist and Fury: Sarah J. Mass

Dang, what better book is there? This book just constantly always keeps the reader interested with some sort of drama and THAT is how I finished it in 72 hours ladies and gentleman. I vividly remember not ever being able to put this book down, and carrying it absolutely everywhere. If you’re considering reading this series, just do it. You will have no regrets, I swear.

Queen of Air and Darkness: Cassandra Clare

I’m excited for ALL Cassandra Clare books, because I know, there’s word spreading about all the upcoming releases currently. But honestly, I’m MOST excited for the next Dark Artifices book because I pretty much fell in love with the Blackthorns. I’m not a huge fan of the title, I feel like it should be more brief…The briefer with the more symbolism the better. Unfortunately it won’t be until next year that I’ll get to catch up with Julian and Emma, and I’m already super hyped.

Tagging everyone who needs some fall vibes on their book blog :))

LET’S DISCUSS: Twilight

Heyyy happy Wednesday! (Ew.) Okay first off, sorry this feels like a messy post…and I haven’t blogged in three weeks; I hate myself. I’m setting a little goal for myself to get back to posting weekly but I was really blanking on something that I ACTUALLY wanted to write about yesterday. While having a nice time watching Twilight: Eclipse. And then it hit me like:

gleeshock.gif

YES TWILIGHT. Plus I loveeee writing discussions. (fyi I don’t watch Glee….this gif just perfectly portrays the moment…) Also if you really hate Twilight with a burning passion, just…RESPECT THE FACT THAT I LIKE IT. Thanks :)) ❤

line

I EXPECTED to hate it.

And I had no real reason to. I wanted something to watch on a long car ride and I couldn’t think of any good movies to download when Twilight just came to mind because my friend had recently binged all the movies in one weekend. The idea didn’t seem too bad; maybe a little cliche sure, but there’s so much HATE towards Twilight at the same time I expected a eye rolling worthy movie. I kind of loved it and downloaded the New Moon right away…hey keep reading I’m not crazy! I’ve literally grown up hearing that Twilight fans are fake and the story is trash and why would you read that when you could be rereading Harry Potter?! Hardcore hp fans be like:

tru.gif

So what’s with all the controversy over this book anyways? Sure it’s maybe a little over hyped for what it is and other books deserve that type of spotlight (COUGH ACOTAR) but just because a lot of people have read it that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t read it. In fact it’s quite the opposite, because if THAT many people love it enough for the book to become THAT famous, you’ll probably like it too. The most awesome book tuber who understands all the feels in her book reviews, made a video on why she likes Twilight and it’s the best thing. (AHAHA CHRISTINE LOOKS SO YOUNG I CAN’T)

Okay but what I don’t get is how some people find it offensive because it’s sexist?? The thing is, Edward is this VAMPIRE, and Jacob is a WEREWOLF, and Bella is a HUMAN. WHAT’S SHE SUPPOSED TO DO? I mean she does DO stuff; Edward isn’t always saving her. For example in New Moon BELLA saved EDWARD from exposing himself to the vampire-hating-people-festival where they would murder him.

I just started the book a few days ago, and I know, that’s pretty bad that I’ve been watching the movies. I expected it to suck so badly though that I thought I wouldn’t want to bother with reading the book, which was a mistake! I bought the first book a while ago, and I want to finish that soon to see how I like it in comparison to the movie. Anyways the moral of today’s story IS…HYPE IS A GOOD THING! (*voice quickly talking in background* even when the majority of people disagree with everything that has to do with a number one New York Times bestseller)

**Despite my sassy meme I swear I’m open to opinions

COMMENT WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT TWILIGHT.

P.S. I’m team Edward, it’s not even open for discussion.

TEN Unique Post Ideas for Book Bloggers

Hello!! Wow it’s been an inexcusably long time since my last post…I suppose school has been keeping me pretty busy. Thank you EVERYONE for helping me reach my goal of 700 followers for the summer, every follow means so much to me!

Ironically, I was blanking on what to write my next post about, and was looking up ideas when I was like, “Hey! I want to be a helpful person!” And somehow I thought of ten post ideas. When I couldn’t think of one ten minutes earlier. I hope you guys enjoy these ideas; if you use one of them drop the link to your post in the comments and I would LOVE to read it!! ❤️❤️

1.The Perfect Book Nook: List off the products that would transform a corner of your room into the perfect book nook. Have some fun with it; shop for furry egg chairs and unique bookcases…

2. Create Your Own Tag: This is one of my favorite things I’ve ever done on my blog, it’s so much fun. Just think of a bunch of questions that are all relevant to one theme, and tag a bunch of people so your it will hopefully catch on.

3. Rewrite the Story: Rewrite the chapter you are on in the book you are reading but from a different character’s POV. You could also write a poem from a character’s POV during one of the climaxes of the novel.

4. This or That: Hold a poll for which of two books you should read next if you’re in a bind. The books would preferably be hyped over ones because it would be more likely more people have read them and can offer you their opinion. If they’re not, just put both of the synopsis’ below the poll! (you can create the poll on polldaddy.com and sign in with WordPress; it’s super easy.

5. Fictional Fam: Create your own fictional family. Choose your favorite characters from different books for your sister, best friend, boyfriend… *cough* everyone reading this is thinking Rhys there’s no point in lying. Have I told you I’m a psychic before?

6. Dream Cast: Choose a book that you would love to see adapted into a film, and choose the cast yourself! Put pictures of the actors/actresses next to the character and say why you would cast them.

7. Gaining Traffic 101: List out a bunch of tips for all the kinks of starting a blog that you had to work out on your own for anyone new to WordPress. For instance, it took me almost half a year to figure out how to design my blog to attract readers, but it’s also really important to have quality post ideas (ahaha) and writing, good graphics, etc. Hey, blogging is more work than most people think!

8. Books to Binge Read on a Rainy Day: Make a list of books that you read in a whiz! Include a short synopsis with the cover, and/or write about why you finished so quickly and loved it!

9. #bookwormproblems: Ugh only a bookworm could understand my pain. For people who need to sympathize about books on the internet…

10. Interview Your Favorite Character(s): For those of you who like to write fanfics, this is should come to you pretty easy (cough WATTPAD peeps) Pick one of your favorite character, and ask ‘them’ a bunch of questions (about what happened in the book, or just general questions about their personality). Answer as best you can for the character and try to copy the author’s character’s style in your writing.

WRAPPING UP SUMMER (in books)

Hi! Did you know it’s #nationaljustbecauseday?? I decided I’m going to be doing seasonal wrap-ups just because. Well I really actually do have reasons…

  1. I can’t wait 6 months for New Year’s Eve so I can be cool and make it my New Years’ blogging resolution.
  2. Just because day is simply the perfect excuse…

This is a pathetic number of books let’s be honest. P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C. The worst part is I’m still finishing ACOWAR. But I mean hey, as I write this there are technically 2 more days of summer left for me, and 100 pages a day is nothing. *Reader: …than why have you only read 5 books in 70 days*

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Mass: ★★★★☆

At the time I thought it was really good but then when I read ACOMAF I was like EWWW TAMLIN, EWWW ACOTAR. **update: I now pity Tamlin.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Mass: ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★

I’m being serious.

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Mass: ★★★★☆

Nothing can compare to ACOMAF, let’s be honest.

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart: ★★★★★

I reread this because I was using quotes from it for my summer reading project. Who am I kidding, loved it as always.

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven: ★★★★☆

Well this ended up being exceedingly more heartbreaking than I would’ve thought. I *almost* cried. (So that means most people would cry lol) This will make such a good movie.

The Perks of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky: ★★★★★

Currently in the middle of this but so far this is what I rate it. *Reader: Um no. Just no.*

A COURT OF MIST AND FURY DUH. I can’t even explain the feels. I love all the characters SO MUCH (*nervous laugh* lol definitely NOT in love with Rhys…and Az). I wrote a very emotional review HERE. If you’re even slightly contemplating reading ACOTAR, then READ IT. I swear you will be thinking this after you finish ACOMAF: “WOW EVERY OTHER BOOK SUCKS BECAUSE THIS WAS SO GOOD IT CANNOT BE COMPARED TO ANY OTHER BOOK IN ALL OF HISTORY.” (well except for Lady Midnight. Except for Lady Midnight folks. ALSO ANOTHER BOOK I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!)

I found out about so many great blogs this summer and I know I’m missing at least 50 which makes me super mad. I swear I’m writing all my favorites down starting today. Anyways, here are a few fairly recent blogs I discovered and totally squealed over…

  • A Court of Books // LOVE. The. Name. Sorry I’m just fangirling over ACOMAF so hard lately. #Feysand #Jemma *HIGH FIVE*
  • Queen of Fantasy // Seriously, what a stunning blog girl. Fantasy is definitely one of my favorite genres so you can’t imagine how excited I was when I visited your blog…
  • The Cosy Reader // Such cute pictures, you need to win a book photography award. Actually though someone get on that.
  • To Borrow or To Buy // Way to spice reviewing up. #CREATIVITY
  • Busy Bee // Okay not even a book blog but this has to be the most adorable blog I have ever seen. All of the posts have super clean, cute photography, and great ideas/inspiration. I’m IN LOVE.

Here I am, just sitting here and cringing at August. I haven’t wrote a post yet this week so that would probably help raise that bar a little…My goal I made at the beginning of the summer was 800 followers by the end, but as mid July approached and I didn’t spend too much time blogging I realized something and said, “You know 700 is good too.” And SO NOW I’M 9 FOLLOWERS AWAY FROM THAT REMADE GOAL! I hate to act so desperate but honestly there’s a reckless part of me just screamed “NINE. MORE.”, so if you’re reading this it would mean sooooo much to click that green follow button and bump 691 to 692. 😇😇

Speaking of followers…wow. Ever since I transformed Reading and Writing Posts-*CRINGES* *BARFS* THE CREATIVITY IN THE TITLE IS SIMPLY OVERWHELMING. (I also put art and photography on there too. *Sighs* At least I didn’t change it to Reading, Writing, Art, and Photography Posts. You know I think I considered that.) And continued: -to Between the Pages back in January, my stats literally went BOOM.

Funfact: Did you know that from June to January, Reading and Writing Posts only gained 100 followers?

Funfact: Did you know that from February to August, Between the Pages gained 600 followers? #hardwork #perseverance #DEDICATION #NOVACATION

Okay wow that sounded slightly obsessive.

WHY THE ACOTAR SERIES BELONGS AT THE TOP OF YOUR TBR.

Hello hello hello! I’ve felt so busy lately because I’ve been at preseason volleyball practices 5 hours everyday. Yeesh this is the most I’ve been looking forward to the weekend since June! I try to make my book reviews sound interesting but seriously the title is NOT A CLICKBAIT LIE. This review is generally for ACOMAF but ACOTAR (the first book) is also included for those of you who haven’t read it yet.

PLEASE let’s just APPRECIATE the lovely featured image above that I put together. *heart eyes* The art is by Charlie Bowater; I’m seriously in love with all of her ACOTAR pieces.

Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever. (from BarnesandNoble.com)

(NON-SPOILER) A SOLID five stars for the whole series. If you’re into fantasy you will hands down love this with all your heart but even if you’re not, this is honestly just a book that is so above and beyond amazing it’s hard not to love it. You get sooooo attached to the characters like their your real family (Okay I have a big imagination…BUT THEY’RE HONESTLY SO AWESOME). The writing is really good, and Maas describes the settings of Prythian really well so it’s easily imagined to be the magical, but terrifying land full of unexpected surprises and plot twists that keep you reading. I haven’t loved a series so much since Cassandra Clare’s The Dark Artifices. (Which I LOVE LOVE. With an undying passion.)

(SPOILER) Whenever their whole little ‘family’ (Mor, Cass, Az, Feyre, Rhys) goes into battle/a fight together they are literally the ultimate team and I’m just reading like YEAH YOU SLAY FEYRE. SLAY THEIR HEADS OFF. Then there’s the all powerful Amren who’s just blasting things out of the sky and dominating. Mor is over there sizing up some other woman like you think you are prettier than me? Watch me kill you in 3 seconds flat. And Cassian like LOL YOU’RE DEAD *swoosh* AND YOU *swoosh* AND YOU *swoosh*.

Ianthe is a literal Zara Dearborn. If I was Feyre I wouldn’t have been able to stay strong and not stab her to death in the tent that night…I also actually really like Lucien, like I mean it’s kind of not his fault that he’s the emissionary of a high lord gone rogue. Like jeez where did you EXPECT him to go?? I think the whole mate idea thing is pretty weird (but AWESOME in Feyre and Rhys’ case) though, because there’s just someone that you’re automatically destined to be with? Um no. I don’t ship Nesta and Cass; I mean I DO but I DON’T. They ARE pretty much perfect for eachother I suppose but I don’t like Nesta still soooo.

I WAS LITERALLY BEING DRIVEN INSANE THROUGHOUT THE FIRST 400 PAGES OF ACOMAF. FEYRE AND RHYSAND. They were flirting like every second of their existence since they met each other and I was like CAN SOMEONE KISS SOMEONE ALREADY. (THE COURT OF NIGHTMARES OH MY GODDDD) But really all the fan art of them are the actual cutest things in the world. Also, Starfall was ADORABLE EEK @*#$!&. There were moments in the book where my face was just crumpling up at their cuteness.

“To the people who look at the stars and wish, Rhys.”
Rhys clinked his glass against mine. “To the stars who listen— and the dreams that are answered.”

This THIS is my god dang background for my laptop and my phone I am so obsessed. And it’s on the side bar.

“I fell in love with you, smartass, because you were one of us—because you weren’t afraid of me, and you decided to end your spectacular victory by throwing that piece of bone at Amarantha like a javelin. I felt Cassian’s spirit beside me in that moment, and could have sworn I heard him say, ‘If you don’t marry her, you stupid prick, I will.”

*CRYING*

“If you were going to die, I was going to die with you. I couldn’t stop thinking it over and over as you screamed, as I tried to kill her: you were my mate, my mate, my mate.”

Can we talk about how mad I was when Feyre was so pissed about Rhys not telling her they are mates like FEYRE REALLY. WHAT WAS HE SUPPOSED TO DO? “Hello my name’s Rhysand. Oh by the way I’m your mate. I hope you like me.”  Okay moving on though, here is some of my favorite ACOMAF humor and fan art . For more visit my bookish Pinterest board! ^_^  By the way I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to the polandbananasBOOKS review for the books in this series (and just every book you read) after you’re finished with them!!

How awesome is that dresser though. #sheknew

BDAY BOOK HAUL!

Hello internet!! (#DanHowellvibesmuch??) A few days ago it was my birthday and I got a few new books! Well actually I got a gift card and chose half of them myself although CLOSE ENOUGH! I almost did a video instead but the camera memory is full (or something) but I hope you like the pictures! I gave them all relatively summery themes.

*Click on the titles to learn more about the book if interested.

// This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp //

I found out about this book through my lit teacher, who actually said she disliked it; contrarily it is a number one New York Times bestseller which is insane. With this in mind, I googled it and I think it seems like a book I would REALLY be interested in. The cover is pretty cool, but the book itself must be pretty heartbreaking given it’s narrated from several different students during a school shooting.

// Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow //

I quite frankly have no idea what this is about, but it has a really unique cover. I MIGHT bring up the state of the cover for every picture…) All I know is that there’s another depressed teen as the main character. WELL THE BOOKS I BUY ARE ALL JUST SO…ENLIGHTENING. It’s not too hard to decipher that, with one look at the title, *google searches synopsis* and YEP it’s seems to be nothing more than that. Crossing my fingers that the writing is amazing. I think that the potential for that quality is definitely there.

Thank GOODNESS I didn’t go see the movie! This book wasn’t too high on my tbr but since I own it now, reading it will be inevitable of course! It’s definitely a very futuristic kind of book, and I always enjoy those really. I am super glad that the movie is starring Emma Watson though; it’ll make seeing the book come to life very enjoyable!!

ACOMAF is totally great so far; in fact so GREAT that I decided that I need to have the next book for right when I finish!! ACOMAF is going like this so far: Hey I’m Feyre who’s now a High Lord and I have no idea what I’m doing with my powers. Or my life. OH MY GOD I CAN’T STAY WITH THIS JERK FOR ETERNITY. *flees to Rhysand* Muchhhh better. This guy has wings, which means open rooms, which means I feel FREE! Much much better. For convenience we might as well fall in love. IN ALL SERIOUSNESS THOUGH IT ACTUALLY IS AMAZING XD.

// Bombshell by Rowan Maness //

My best friend got me this, and she warned me that I’d think it would sound cheesy but I think it actually sounds GREAT. I’ve never heard of it before but I seriously LOVEEEE THE COVER SO MUCH. I CAN’T EVEN. Anyways, I was looking at it on the Barnes and Noble website when I NOTICED something. It says “MTV’s Catfish meets We Were Liars...” I had a huge fangirling moment when I read that. So it’s pretty much like a 50% version ALL-TIME FAVORITE BOOK; or I’m HOPING so, at least.

Is it bad that I JUST noticed that there’s a face on the cover?? WHAT IT’S HARDER TO TELL IN REAL LIFE. Kind of. Okay not really I guess. I honestly have NO IDEA what this book is about, but it seems like it’s not YA, so TECHNICALLY that means I’m off the hook for not recognizing it lol. The writing seems good, and I’m crossing my fingers that I won’t get lost reading this. Yeah um I get lost in plots very easily. In other words YA is my forever true love!! (NO THERE IS STILL HOPE)

Have YOU read any of these books/are they on your tbr?

Are Audio Books CHEATING?

*mentally prepare yourself a rant about a very unpopular opinion*

TRIGGER WARNING.

rapunzel.gif

Hello lovelies! (I always have to say hi and rant about my problems first tho DUH) So I suppose I’m in the mood to rant and I’ve been itching to write all day, although unfortunately I was stuck watching a lacrosse game all day. *no comment on how bored, hot, and hungry that made me* (THE WORST COMBO.) And remember that everything I say is just MY OPINION, so please don’t be offended if you like audiobooks, I don’t mean to offend your preferences.

During the school year I stared at the poster a lot that was hung up on the wall in of the school library. It read, “Audio books are not cheating.” and when I thought about it a for 1 second I had decided…THEY DO NOT.  Now I have no clue how many of you will agree/disagree with this opinion but let me explain!

AUDIO BOOKS

There is no other form of books besides:

a) the ebook: a book on a screen

b) the book book: a book with actual real live pages and the whole shebang!

You see, a BOOK is meant to be able to be READ or else it’s not a book, right? And then the word audio means transmitted sound…soooo audio books are books being read to you; or for you, I dare say.

THEY’RE LIKE CHEATING

I mean, you do inevitably benefit slightly from them, by learning new vocabulary, but audio books are really just the equivalent to listening to the radio. You’re not READING it using your EYES (Or fingers for braille! Speaking of which, if people have disabilities that make them unable to read than it is fair to call it not cheating for these people.) you’re listening to the book with your EARS. THE LAST TIME I CHECKED EARS CAN’T READ.

nope.gif

NOT MY PERSONAL PREFERENCE

I often reread certain paragraphs, pages, or even CHAPTERS to be quite honest, especially when I forget to read that certain book for a while. This is rather difficult to do on the little audio thingie! But most importantly, I SPACE OUT SO EASILY. I’ll just be having a just DANDY day reading my stupid little audio book while staring at a wall and then all of a sudden I miss an entire chapter…And if you’re listening to them on your phone it makes you look SUPER antisocial.

Also though, you just don’t get the FULL EXPERIENCE of reading a book. For example, the satisfying motion of turning a page, as well as the SMELL of the book, (thats not weird right??) and feeling accomplished to see that thick pile of pages you’ve read! SO:

no.gif

MY LIT TEACHER ALWAYS TOLD US TO REMEMBER COUNTERCLAIMS.

Audio books truly are an easy way to read, especially if you need to get something else done in your day at the same time (Go multitasking!). But really most of my classmates use them because they are simply lazy and complain about how much they hate reading blablablablabla. BUT ANYWAYS BACK TO THAT COUNTER CLAIM, if you love audio books just BECAUSE they are awesome and your true love than you go listen to those audio books and enjoy them! (and maybe you should’ve skipped over this entire post) In my opinion, audio books are good for multitasking, but AGAIN I like to chill out when I read. Although I am not an adult with adult responsibilities that may take up my normal reading time.

What up readers, it’s SUNDAY! And I have to leave for camp today…(when your brain doesn’t know whether you should be happy or sad about something) So yep I’ll be off the grid until next weekend. Hopefully not COMPLETELY though, because I’ll have my phone with the handy dandy glitch central WordPress app, and if it’s not acting up on me I’ll try to answer comments and all that. ALSO, when I went to the Barnes and Noble website yesterday this happened: EEKKKKK SO EXCITED.

“A gorgeously written tale as lush and romantic as it is ferocious. Absolutely spellbinding.” —Alexandra Bracken, NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author

synopsis

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin–one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she’s been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin–and his world–forever. (synopsis from barnesandnoble.com)

You guys have no idea how long this has been on my tbr. I bought it a month ago, but JUST got around to reading it this week and IT MET ALL MY EXPECTATIONS PERFECTLY AND I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF THAT I READ IT AT LAST.

Of course though, from the billion reviews on this series I’ve skimmed over blogging, I KNOW that Feyre ends up with Rhysand. (Still gonna pronounce it Rye-sand even though Sarah J. Mass clearly stated it is Ree-sand in the pronunciation guide.)

So the entire book the TEMPTATION to ship #feylin was just staring me in the face, but I was like: no I’m going to learn to love and accept Rhysand. And you’re probably thinking: UM SARAH THAT’S UNNECESSARY THE AUTHOR MAKES YOU LIKE HIM. But the thing is, that NEVER WORKS ON ME. I always get stuck on the first boyfriend they introduce and I just CAN NOT MOVE ON. Like for example The Hunger Games…GALE WAS MEANT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH KATNISS BECAUSE IF HER NAME WASN’T PICKED SHE NEVER WOULD’VE GIVEN A CRAP FOR PEETA. It was simply not meant to be because CLEARLY if you’ve been living in the same 100 yards or whatever for your entire life and never cared or acknowledged each other than NO. JUST NO. WHY WOULD THAT HAPPEN.

Okay moving away from The Hunger Games now, (so the Team Peeta fans don’t come after me) I was literally just so distraught that Feyre isn’t going to marry Tamlin and live their eternal happily ever after. *SOB*

Okay what’s pretty sad is that all I’ve talked about is the romance, but to be honest I AM FORESEEING A KILLER LOVE TRIANGLE. AND MANY HEARTS WILL BE BROKEN. (so mine and Tamlin’s) Anyways, overall I saw no major flaws in the writing or plot line, and I can’t WAIT to buy the next book. (it’s not at my library *ultra frowny face*) And disclaimer…You may also apply that gif to my editing skills. Leaving for camp in 30 MINUTES!!

Creating My Own Fictional Life…

Hello lovely readers! So today I have this post that was SUPER fun to make! (*SIGH* IT’S ALL JUST A TEMPTATION. JUST KIDDING I SWEAR.) Yep, so it’s Saturday (well when I’m writing this) and I’ve been thinking of all these great blog post ideas I have planned for you all (I wish I could say y’all but I don’t think I can pull it off EXCEPT this is internet life and I can be anyone I wanna be. Whoop whoop.) Y’ALL. Getting back to the *amazing* posts I have planned: I NEED A PLANNER for my blog posts. I would feel so…organized (when you can tell someone is obviously not). AND all of the characters I choose would be if I HAD to because I really wouldn’t replace them with the people in my REAL life!!

Oh yes, and while I was scavenging the internet for fan art of Jules, I found THIS. I CAN’T BREATHE AH AH CARA WOULD BE PERFECT. LIKE HONESTLY CAN’T YOU SEE IT??!

WHO WOULD BE YOUR…

What You'll Need-6.jpg

bookthief_48.jpg

This is the hardest one to choose because parents are almost ALWAYS the problem in YA fiction.

But regardless if I had to choose I would probably pick Rosa and Hans Hubermann from The Book Thief. I know they look like grandparents in this picture, but besides the hair it portrays them pretty accurately and cute. Rosa is kinda all ‘tough love’ throughout the book and by the end I liked her, but I loved Hans all the way.

Definitely Simon Lewis. (The Mortal Instruments) He always has got Clary’s back no matter what, and has the most innocent, loyal, and friendly personality! Simon tries to do the right thing, and through all brings up Dungeons and Dragons references. *Jace is fighting demon to his death* Simon: HEY THIS IS JUST LIKE DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS. *stares in aw while Jace is slowly dying*

Okay UM I COULDN’T FIND A SINGLE PIECE OF FANART OF JULIAN BLACKTHORN I LIKED EXCEPT FOR ALL THE ONES WITH EMMA IN IT. Not that that isn’t totally okay *rushes words* because Emma is amazing and deserves to be in the picture and GOOO JEMMA. Moving on, to be completely honest Julian is hands down the best fictional brother in YA. Do I even have to explain why? I mean, if you’ve read The Dark Artifices you KNOW. It’s so cute how he takes care of all his siblings and how much they appreciate him always being there. Ahhhh it makes me want to CRY Julian is such a good person. AND if Julian were my brother than Emma could be my SISTER-IN-LAW; (at least pray that they get married and somehow find a way to break the STUPID PARABATAI BOND) PERFECTION. But honestly I can’t decide whether I would want Julian to be my fictional brother or boyfriend…NOT BOTH BUT EW YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.

June from the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu! If you haven’t read it, PLEASEEEE DO. It’s by far my favorite dystopian trilogy, and a must-read. The best part about the picture is that it’s drawn BY THE AUTHOR HERSELF. Pretty dang cool, right? Well anyways, June is a total genius and perfectionist, yet also has no fears in being the kick-butt dare devil she is. Scaling a sky-scraper instead of attending school? Why not.

How she uses her smarts and fire to rebel against her government is a-maz-ing. Sing it with me. Oh yeah and that guy she meets along the way…cough cough DAY. Just go read it.

What You'll Need-10.jpg

newtBOWTRUCKLE! At first it was a little hard to think of a pet because they’re usually not too important in fiction…the only pet I could think of was Buttercup (the raging katniss-hating kittycat). So I chose a creature that isn’t EXACTLY A PET but eh close enough I still want Bowtruckle. Ahhhh I love this movie so much! This picture is really making me wanting to re-watch it! Oh and by the way, SPEAKING of Fantastic Beasts; if you loved it and are a Potterhead (inevitable not to be both) than you might enjoy checking out @Scamander’s Suitcase!

What You'll Need-11.jpg

landofstoriesmap.jpg

I would definitely have to choose a place from a fantasy novel, (because who doesn’t like MAGIC?) so I chose the Land of Stories because how awesome would it be to see all these fairytales come to life, except in the Chris Colfer version (which is even BETTER DUH)?! To be specific, my plan would obviously be to live in the Fairy Kingdom and become the greatest fairy of all time (I keep wanting to spell it faerie!! Hey Cassandra Clare fans…) so I could REPLACE ALEX AS FAIRY GODMOTHER. MWAHAHAHA jk Alex is was a great fairy godmother! Still haven’t read the fifth book yet guys!!
